Terraced garden retaining walls, water feature, stepping stone stile and walkway. This project was tricky due to the location of the work site. Situated on a steep hill, all digging was done by hand and all stones placed by hand. Over 76 tons of stone were used on this project. The walls are up to 3 feet thick at the foundation. Large stone slabs are cantilevered into the wall to act as stepping stone stiles which lead down to the bottom of the wall. A pair of large trianglular slabs were cantilevered onto the top to jut out over the retaining wall to create a pond-less waterfall feature. |
